Mugagga Peter: Associate Consultant

Mr. Mugagga has over 10 years’ experience in development practice work. He has acquired valuable expertise in the area of development planning, management, monitoring and evaluation, organizational development, capacity building, leadership, policy development, advocacy as well as grants management. His practice engagements cut across various levels namely community, national to regional and international levels. He also possesses skills in Rights-Based Approaches to Programming; Psychosocial Work; Counselling, Case Management (Sexual Gender Based Violence; Reproductive Health) and Child Rights.
Mr. Mugagga has worked with various organizations and agencies including Trias Uganda where he spearheaded the implementation of the organization’s M&E system; provided technical support to partners to mainstream HIV / AIDS and gender in their work and implemented projects and M&E systems. He has also worked with ANPPCAN Uganda, Kenya and Ghana Chapters where in various positions, he supported the development of child rights projects and programmes and, coordinated their implementation, coordinated operations and performance of ANPPCAN (Uganda) District Branches; developed and implemented M&E systems; worked as a Key Resource Person for the Civil Society Capacity Building Programme of the 9th EDF under which ANPPCAN Uganda provided technical capacity support and mentoring to 9 grantee organizations including support in M&E.
As a part of the DLC Consultancy Team, Peter has undertaken and contributed to several assignments including; the African Child Policy Forum (ACPF) Study on Violence in the Family and Community settings in Uganda, Uganda Child Rights NGO Network Midterm Strategic Review to mention but a few.
Mr. Mugagga holds an honours Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University. He has undertaken additional specialized training in Strategic Planning and Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Management of Consultancy Services, Human Rights Programming, Resource Mobilization / Project Proposal Development, Organizational Development, Capacity Building, Advocacy, Community Organization, Reproductive Health, Guidance and Counselling, and Communication Skills. He also completed a 3 year mentoring programme in Monitoring and Evaluation administered by MS Training Centre for Development Corporation – Arusha, Tanzania.
