International and national legal codes emphasise the rights of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) to basic social services, employment and equal participation in development processes. However, structural and cultural barriers limit the equal participation and benefit of PWDs from development processes. DLC recognises the need to equalise opportunities for PWDs and accordingly leverages its technical expertise to support clients design, implement and evaluate programmes that protect and promote the rights of PWDs.
We also conduct research and analysis on disability issues and have carried out consultations with PWDs to inform policy development and review. We have a strong history of working with Disabled Persons Organisations (DPOs).
